Preparing for the Year Ahead
Updated: 1 day ago
Dear Friends,
We are overwhelmed by the love we have received this past year through the prayers, generosity, and friendship of faithful near and far. Earlier this year, our monastery transferred to the OCA Diocese of the Midwest and we have welcomed hundreds of new pilgrims, along with church groups who have spent weekends helping with work around the monastery.
With everyone's support, we have also finished removing the remaining old mobile homes, which were replaced by new monastic buildings. It is good to finally see the grounds cleared, but the work took considerably more out of our "piggy bank" than we had hoped.
Now we are working hard to complete major earthmoving before Wisconsin's winter arrives, so that we can begin proper landscaping in the spring. We have also built six new cells for monks and are trying to finish the insulation and painting before the Christmas icon rush begins.
If you are able to financially help with the cost of this work or lend your talents during an in person visit, we would be most grateful for your support. May your loving assistance to this monastery be to the Glory of God. Please keep us in your prayers, as we remember you in ours.
With love in Christ,
Father Menas, superior
And all the Brotherhood
